FASTING 3 – WHAT CAN YOU NOT DO?

There is hardly anyone living on earth who does not have one or more problems that no human being living on earth can solve for him or her. These problematic needs can be material, sin and iniquity (e.g. masturbation, homosexuality, lesbianism, etc), financial (e.g. paying of debts, serving of debts, fees, rent, money for projects, etc), social, spiritual (e.g. unanswered prayers, lack of fellowship with God and man, difficulty in reading the Bible, etc), health (e.g. terminal diseases, undiagnosed diseases, incurable diseases, etc), and deliverance (e.g. satanic oppression, demonic possession, attacks from the spirit world, etc). The list can go on. As I think of these various needs of mankind, this song comes to my mind.

FASTING 2

The world is governed by laws. The law of gravity says that what goes up must come down. The sun rises and sets every day. Life is sustained by the breathing in of oxygen and breathing out of carbon dioxide several times a day. These are natural laws.

There are the spiritual laws. Just as natural laws are observed effortlessly, so should spiritual laws be obeyed without struggle. The struggle in obeying laws of the spirit comes from the fact that the heart is unyielded to Christ. Ezekiel 36:26 tells us this: "And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." This heart surgery can only be achieved when you are born again.
