A- A A+

The Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, testified that “Only 70 years ago! The Jews were taken to slaughter like sheep. 60 years ago! No country. No army …” When Israel became a nation, seven Arab countries, namely: Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, and Saudi Arabia declared war against the small Jewish state with only 650 people. Israel won the war against the Arabs in just 6 days.

United Nations gave Israel a country that was 65% desert. Today the desert has been so blessed that Israel exports oranges, flowers and vegetables all over the world. Israel has nuclear power that makes her rank with countries like Great Britain, United States, Russia, France, India and China.

The Arabs are 1.2 billion in population i.e. 20% of the entire world. All of them put together have won only seven Nobel prizes; one in Literature and the rest in Peace. On the other hand, Israel has a population of 1.2 million people i.e. 0.02% of our world population. They have won 129 Nobel prizes in almost all fields of study.

What lessons do we have to learn from this? The great lesson is that we should be in covenant with the Almighty God. He is a covenant loving and covenant keeping God. The Israelites are enjoying the covenants their fathers entered into hundreds of years ago. God told Abraham, their forefather in Genesis 12:2-3 “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Are you leaving blessings behind for your children to reap from tomorrow?

The other lesson is that you have to be in covenant with God. If Israel refuses to keep the covenant her fathers entered into with Him, they can't enjoy the blessings of the covenant in full. Beloved, as you leave UNIBEN to where God is taking you to, make sure you are keeping the conditions of His covenant with you.
