THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER

SCATTERED DISCIPLES

Before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Judas Iscariot, His treasurer, sold him for just thirty pieces of silver. Peter, who was about the boldest amongst the disciples, betrayed Him thrice in one night saying that he does not know Jesus. To worsen every thing; His disciples that dined with Him, lived with Him, worked closely with Him, ministered with Him, deserted Him. Only John the beloved stood by Him during the period of His greatest trial on earth, that of going to die on the cross for mankind. When Christ needed His disciples most, they were not available to encourage Him.

Beloved, are your closest associates, relations, co-workers, neighbors etc making jest of you because of your faith in Christ?

Tell it to Jesus. At times of great trials of faith and temptations, you need to go very close to Jesus and hand over all you are going through to Him. The greater the hard times the nearer you should be to Jesus.

Sing and meditate on this song:

Are you weary, are you heavy hearted?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
Are you grieving over joys departed?
Tell it to Jesus alone.
Refrain
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known.
You’ve no other such a friend or brother,
Tell it to Jesus alone.

FEARFUL DISCIPLES

After the death of Jesus Christ, His disciples were filled with fear. Consequently, they started hiding from people. The person keeping Jesus' money had committed suicide. When hunger struck them; Peter got the disciples to go with back to his fishing profession. The good news is that Jesus went looking for them. He met them at this time in the sea of Tiberius, fishing. Jesus helped them catch many fishes, fed them and re-commissioned them.

Draw strength from the words of God in Joshua 1:5-6a which says: "There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: ..."

Do not allow the present hard times you are going through bring your faith in Christ down. But rather, "be strong" and be of good courage. God will not take you through what will ruin and destroy you. Beloved I say again to you "be strong." Go to Jesus for strength unlimited through the power of the Holy Spirit.

THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER

Just before Jesus ascended to Heaven He told His disciples these words in Acts 1:8 that "... ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

The times are hard. Things are not getting better. The challenges of being and continuing as a Christian is getting tougher and tougher by the day. The only way you can make it successfully is by accepting the Promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit baptism.

Today is Pentecost Sunday, make sure you are saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit. If you have received these divine favour from God, then ensure that you are re-filled today and that you are being filled daily for His service.

Beloved, remain rapturable.

Maranatha.
